Introducing our Speaker: PDG Rtn. Prabir Chakravarti
PDG Rtn. Prabir Chakravarti is an M.A. (ECO), L.L.B. (Calcutta University).
M.B.A. (Queens University, Belfast, U.K.). He has wide experience in
business and administration. He has been the leader of the Employers
Delegation to International Labour Organization (Geneva) during 1995-1996
and Employers Representative in the Bipartite Committee of Industrial
Relations set up by Ministry of Labour, 1996-97 and has been member of
various Standing Committees established by Ministry of Labour.
Rtn. Chakravarti has also attended different meetings of International
Labour Organisation as leader of Employers Delegation in India and abroad.
He served as President of many Clubs & Organisations like all India
Organisation of Employers, Bharat Chamber of Commerce, and Calcutta Club
Ltd. Currently he is Director of many reputed Companies.
A Rotarian since 1972, PDG Prabir Chakravarti was installed as the 75th
President of the Rotary Club of Calcutta. He was responsible for
constructing the Rotary Sadan complex during his tenure. He has been
District Chairman, GCR, MNC, Chairman of District Conference. He is also a
Paul Harris Fellow. His spouse Malabika is an active member of the Inner
Wheel.

For those who are attending this Zonal Meet – all the younger Rotarians you
can notice are probably from RCCR – that’s Rotary Club of Calcutta
Renaissance.
Most of our members have been past Rotaractors, so despite our young age, we
are not that “young” in Rotary, which makes us feel quite at home. Let us

Minutes of 113th Regular Weekly Meeting of RCCR
held on Saturday, 6th September, 2008 at DKS Club at 6:30 pm.
1. Rtn Nihar called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.
2. National Anthem was sung.
3. President announced that the next Zonal Meet would be on Sunday 14th
September 2008 at 11:30am at the Calcutta Rowing Club, and requested all
members to attend.
4. Rtn Amitava mentioned that the club should organize a small fellowship
for the members of Sikar Nagarik Parishad in gratitude for helping our club
in the wonderful eye camp at Paushi on 23-24 August.
5. Rtn Mausam conducted the club business and informed members of the
upcoming events.
6. There will be no RWM on Saturday 13th September due to the Zonal Meet the
following day.
7. IPP Prakash announced that he is planning a new concept for
entrepreneurship development – E4U, much on the lines of J4U. More details
would be let known in due course.
8. There being no other business to transact the meeting was terminated.

Our new member Dr. Aditya N. Sen, FRCS, eminent
oncologist of Calcutta, represented India in the UICC World Cancer Congress
2008 at Geneva between 27-31 August 2008. He presented a research paper on
passive smoking and its correlation in cancer development. Kudos !!!
